ARKANA HOME STUDIO

This was my design studio for several years.  The plan was based on a simple golden section rectangle cruxiform, with double spiral sectional forms.  There is a pyramid of glass in the roof, with the dimensions of the Great Pyramid in Giza plateau, Egypt.

The windows are in the shape of the Vesica Pisces - the intersection shape of two over lapping and interpenetrating circles.  This shape is fundamental stepping stone in sacred geometry, instantly providing us with the root of three.  The number of glass block windows in each of the four arched gables resonates with the Lo Shu, or magic square of  Taoist philosophy (a simple three by three square arrangement of the numbers one to nine, so that all columns, rows and diagonals all add up to fifteen)

A simple glazed sun rooms, and another example of using timeless proportions and ratios to add more beauty to a living space.
